Swiss Water process decaf, blended with some regular beans, is best tasting caf.

I just dont like coffee. I’ve tried maxwell, lavazza, tims, starbucks, crimson cup, le combe, 4 barrel. I am just not a coffee guy.

You can also get caffeine from tea...
Are you a tea person?

What don’t you like? I’m super picky about coffee but give me the right coffee and I’ll drink it black.

bitter, weird after taste...just not my thing. Sure it drink anything with enough milk and sugar, but at what point is coffee and not caffeinated milk and sugar?

nope. tea is when i’m sick.
I dont normally drink tea or coffee or energy drink for that matter. I live a relativly caffeine free life.

I find that lavazza decaf pictured is some of the best decaf.
I don’t know what process they use, but it’s way better than the el cheap decaf available in most places.

Yeah... I have the Tea-sickness association in my head as well... mainly because it’s what my mom made me drink when I got sick when I was young.

THIS! This is the same thing I hate about most coffees too but the difference is I love coffee and am always looking for the right one. I got a Keurig for my birthday and was finally able to try as many different coffees as possible in a really quick manner. I’ve come to realize I prefer dark roast specifically because it has the least aftertaste. The tradeoff is that it comes with a bold coffee flavor up front that may be too strong for some people (personally I love it.)
Now another thing I’ve come to realize is I don’t care for French Roast which is a common dark roast. Colombian Roast is ok. My personal favorite right now is
Mystic Monk’s Midnight Vigil
. It’s a really strong dark roast but is also very smooth.
On a related note this is the same thing I don’t like about beer is the bitter aftertaste and after some trial and error I’ve come to find out I like stout for the same reasons I prefer dark roast, bold up front taste with little to no bitter aftertaste.

In terms of beers, i’m a Sapporro kind of guy. steal and steam whistle are pretty good do, as is keiths and some sleemans (the railroad sleemans isnt good at all...)
but at the end of the day my favourite beer is a free one. 2nd favourite is cold.

I refuse to believe that someone who drinks decaf understands human concepts such as fun.

Hell naw. That’s just as unecessary as alcohol free beer.

My problem with decaf, is it usually tastes like donk. I drink my coffee black, so the taste matters more than anything to me. If you’ve had it, how does this one compare to Gevalia decaf, which I do like?
![]() 12/02/2016 at 11:39 |

Fair enough. For more of that list I was thinking “well, that’s your problem” but those last two make decent coffee. People who say they like Dunkin donuts us like saying they like chocolate, but only eat Hershey’s kisses they find in couch cushions. If you couldn’t tell, the coffee geek/snob is strong with me.

I’m willing to try anything, it just doesnt work with me. oh well. not needing a coffee budget means more money to motorcycle stuff :)

Never had Gevalia. But that Lavazza package you see cost me $6... twice the cost of the regular stuff. And at 250g, it’s not a big package. But it tastes almost as good as the regular Lavazza... which is my regular coffee.

I’ll have to try it then, if I can find it.

Mmmm. They use a solvent to remove the caffeine. Sounds like just the thing I want to drink. Methylene chloride or ethyl acetate, anyone?

The best brands you’re likely to find nationally are going to be counter culture, stumptown, or intelligencia. Locally, I like ceremony. But the key for those brands is that they roast for freshness, so if they’re more than two weeks past roast date they won’t be worth the premium cost anymore. Or don’t go down the rabbit hole and enjoy your larger bike budget!

They have it at the No Frills grocery store at Dixie Outlet Mall in Mississauga, which is just west of Toronto.
